The TE-4201 single line telephone analyzer incorporates many features
to monitor the integrity of your telephone and phone line. The unit includes
3 visual status indicators in the form of LED lights. This state-of-the-art
eavesdropping detector gives you three under selectable function switches,
a dual tone alarm, two threshold adjustment controls and automatic mute
circuitry. Features like this are usually only found in analyzing equipment
costing hundreds of dollars more!
The TE-4201 tests your phone line for slight voltage and current variations
caused by possible parasitic R.F. radio transmitting devises, telephone
repair line powered handsets, off hook extensions, or tampering of your
phone line even in your absence. The line alert feature will monitor the
phone line voltage when the phone is in use. If it detects changes, it will
alarm you by lighting a red L.E.D. and alert tone and automatically mute
your local telephone to prevent any additional conversation from being heard.

The TE-4201 also contains a complete Near-field RF transmitter detection
system capable of monitoring your phone line for possible illegal radio
transmitting devices up to 300 feet from your source. It has a detection
bandwidth of 1.495 Ghz and will detect transmitting devices from 5 Mhz to
1.5 Ghz. When it detects a transmitter, it will alarm you with a flashing
L.E.D. and pulsing alert tone. The TE-4201 has a 3-way alert tone which
allows you to distinguish the following types of alarm: RF- Line Alert-
combination of both.
The TE-4201 safeguards your conversation with the automatic mute circuitry,
if your phone line becomes compromised by an external line change. Only
the phone plugged into the TE-4201 will go dead, preventing you from communicating
any further until the line returns to normal. While you're away from the
phone, the monitor-mode will check your phone line for tampering or wire
changes, open circuits, or a polarity reversal. When changes occur, the
green L.E.D. indicator will start to flash, indicating possible tampering.
It can then be manually reset using the rest button.
