Private collectors noticed the lack of police involvement when bogus items
touted by internet auction house AuctionDepotLA appeared too good to be
true, eBay prices notwithstanding. Bidding on such bogus items such as,
a dagger from "Gone with the Wind" which sold for over $700.
Also bids were taken on what was presumed to be a birdhouse from "Lord
of the Rings", which turned out to be a fake purchased from a Big
Lots store, as well as other items from Hollywood history.
Developing
an Interview Strategy
Some interviews are free-flowing and spontaneous. Often, these interviews
are conducted in an uncontrolled environment such as a street corner,
an employee’s office or over the telephone. Because the person being
interviewed in these situations is generally telling the truth, the investigator
does not have to carefully structure an interview strategy. However, when
interviewing a person who is motivated to lie to the investigator, the
interview should not be haphazard or spontaneous. It should be carefully
planned out and structured to achieve the desired goals.
