Flat Folding Brass Micro Binoculars, 1850's
These mint condition brass micro binoculars folded down flat to fit in
a pocket or small saddle bag. Although there are a lot of binoculars around
from that time, there are very very we have seen that are in such good
condition. A lot of people may call these "opera glasses" and,
of course' the makers would sell them to anyone. However, these were an
excellent spy and private-eye tool since they are so small and could be
hidden so easily because of their size and the fact that they folded down
flat. That was quite a marvel for it's time.
