Standard Detective Agency Pocket
Dictionary Give-A-Way 1895
From the Standard Detective Agency of Chicago, here is an advertising
give-a-way with agency ad copy n the cover and back from 1895. Note the
term Secret Service which was a term used to describe detective agency
services for this time period. A. L. Standard was the general manager
and the agency had it's own phone line. Phone lines where high tech for
their time period and many businesses didn't have one. Their Chicago phone
number was 182.
