Minifon Pocket Wire P-55 Kit, 1940's-1950's
An even "minier" version of the Minifon called the P-55 was a special kit marketed to espionage, intelligence, spy organizations, police departments and private-eyes (If You Could Afford One!) with the famous covert watch microphone. Note that this new updated Minifon recorder was even smaller than the other versions of the Minifon and designed for covert use. The P-55 Pocket Wire Minifon was a wire recorder only in a special kit. You could not play back anything on it. However, it was much smaller than the regular Minifon. The kit consisted of the P-55 Pocket Wire Recorder, a regular Minifon for playback and several covert mics. If you had one of these in the 1940's or early 1950's, you had the latest state-of-the-art covert audio recording marvel!

The Minifon Pocket Wire P-55 Kit came with a leather zipper case.

Since the Minifon Pocket Wire P-55 could not play back but only record on the wire spools,
the kit contained a regular Minifon for playback. The kit also included the covert microphone watch.
