Post Card Notice To Pinkerton Seeking Murder Suspect, 1888 This is an old post card sent to Pinkerton Detective Agency Boston, Mass. by J. H. Clune, City Marshal of Springfield, Mass for an arrest notice of one Harry Taylor. Note the postmark of Postmarked June 16 4 30 PM 1888 in Springfield Mass. The print date and the postmark date are the same so someone wanted these out fast. It's highly important to note and understand that other than the telegraph, this type of communication was the only method od communication in these days. Postcard notices was a very common way to get the word about. It's also important to note that arrest powers of private investigators, especially the Pinkerton's was unofficially established.
