The Leo Yazzie Collection Leo Yazzie is a personal friend Of Ralph Thomas, the owner of Thomas Turquoise Trading Company and Tribal Impressions. Mr. Yazzie resides in Flagstaff, Arizona and was born and raised at Black Mesa Arizona. He is Navajo. Leo Yazzie has been designing and developing high end jewelry since he was a young lad in college and has been doing it full time for almost 30 years. His exposure to Navajo culture and his home teachings influence his advanced work. He gives credit to his grandmother's and late mother's bold rug weaving patterns to many of his unique and highly prized designs. He is known for his fine work in gold jewelry and gold over sliver along with very fine top grade stones and small cutout inlays in the sides of his settings. Over the years, Leo Yazzie has won many awards for his pieces which highlynnumerous to even try to count. Leo Yazzie is one of only a handful of top Navajo Priests and his creativity and spirituality certainly come out in his very fine jewelry. Aside from that, Leo Yazzie collected almost all of his very fine top grade stones he uses many decades ago. Much of the high grade turquoise and other stones are almost impossible to find today. The Lapis ring pictured below along with many of his other pieces have been featured in high end Native American jewelry books. Leo Yazzie does custom work and these second pieces are examples from our private collection and are not for sale. The first section is just a small selection from our for sale collection. Rings and bracelets are custom adjusted and sized for each serious collector by Mr. Yazzie himself. No two Leo Yazzie pieces are alike.
